Apple Translate is good but defaults to online for many language pairs and the offline downloads are limited per device storage. Offline Translator bundles fully-functional offline models for 12+ pairs in the app, no separate download flow.
How accurate is the translation? +
For travel-grade conversations (menus, directions, asking questions), accuracy is good. For nuanced literary or technical translation, dedicated cloud services edge out. The trade-off is: this works without signal, which is the point.
Will the bundled language packs make the app huge? +
About 200 MB total for all 12+ languages. Comparable to a podcast app with downloaded episodes. Reasonable for the offline guarantee.
