How fresh are the rates? +
Auto-refresh once per day when you have signal. Reference rates from ECB Eurostat are published daily around 16:00 CET; the app pulls them shortly after. For travel and personal-budget use, daily fresh is plenty. For real-time forex trading, this app is not the right tool.
What public source do the rates come from? +
ECB Eurostat reference rates (free, public, updated daily) for Euro pairs, with a free fallback service for non-Euro pairs. No paid Bloomberg or Reuters feed — the rates are accurate to ~0.1% for retail use, not for FX market-making.
Will the conversion work without cell signal? +
Yes — this is the main differentiator. Rates are cached on-device after each daily refresh. Airplane mode, foreign country with no eSIM, subway underground, basement — the converter still works using your most recent cached rates.
Does it handle cryptocurrency? +
