iOS Notes is for paragraphs; finding a specific 1-line snippet (gift card code, email signature) means scrolling and searching. iOS itself has no clipboard history — once you copy something new, the old clipboard is gone. Clipboard Notes is a structured library of reusable snippets with a Lock Screen shortcut that copies the right one in 2 taps.
How is this different from the Paste app? +

Will my snippets leave the device? +

Can I store passwords here? +
Possible but not recommended. Use a proper password manager (iCloud Keychain, 1Password, Bitwarden) for credentials. Clipboard Notes is for non-secret reusable text: support replies, signatures, addresses, gift card codes, the WiFi password for guests. Snippets are biometric-gated in Pro tier for the borderline cases.
Does the Lock Screen widget actually copy without unlocking? +
Yes — widgets execute the copy action without an unlock if the snippet is marked “Quick Access”. For sensitive snippets (the credit card number you keep around), mark them “Requires Auth” — the widget then prompts Face ID before copying.
What’s a variable placeholder? +
A token inside a snippet that expands on paste. Example snippet body: “Hi {name}, thanks for your patience. We’ll have an update by {date+2d}.” Tap the snippet → prompt asks for name; “tomorrow plus 2” auto-fills. Saves typing the same scaffolding repeatedly.
